The Wedding of Kim & Sam!

What a year it has already been!  Guys, I can’t begin to express how crazy things have been around here.  We’re working away as hard as we possibly can, and trying to take full advantage of this AMAZING weather!  For now though, I wanted to introduce you to Kim & Sam!  These two have been so great to work with. I feel so blessed to meet so many wonderful people day in and day out.  Over the years, I’ve had an ever bigger pleasure to getting to know each of my wonderful brides on a more personal level.  Well, Kim is one of those people.  She is so incredibly laid back, nice and completely trusting!  Which I LOVE!!!  All we ask is that our couples trust us to do the job in which they’re paying us to do.  So, a special thank you to Kim and her family for placing SOOO much trust in us, never questioning anything we do.

So…. check out [just a few] favorites from their big day!

Meet Kim.  Isn’t she beautiful!

This little guy made me smile!  Isn’t he cute?!!!

Kim “knuckling” her dad!  She said this is how they always greet each other!  I’m glad we caught that!

A sweet moment with the happy couple just after the ceremony!  The sunlight was amazing after the ceremony!  Not to mention, it was so comfortable outside (not too cold, and definitely not too hot).

Kim & Sam had planned for their first dance to begin just after entering the reception.  But, some of their best friends and bridal party had other plans!  Kim is a HUGE Gamecock fan!  (I’m HUGE)  Well, her best friend arranged for Cocky to surprise them just before their first dance!  Lets just say, her reaction was priceless!  Way to go, this was a great surprise!

And for some fun shots with Cocky are always a must!

Now…. the first dance!  :)  Dave Gilbert with Partytime DJs kept everyone on the dance floor!  Way to go Dave, great job, as always!

I have to throw out a few props!  Kim & her dad shagged for their ‘father-daughter’ dance, and they’re really good!

And one of my favorite things about this couple… they got the ‘Photo Booth’!  For those of you who didn’t know, we offer a ‘Photo Booth’ for receptions.  A third photographer is there to capture all of those fun and crazy moments on a simple backdrop.  Let me just say, they make for the most entertaining pictures that your guests are sure to LOVE!  This has become pretty popular this past year.  Here are some from their reception.

Don’t think we forgot ourselves… we even joined in on the fun!

The bubble send off!  Always lots of fun!

Guys, you have both been such a blast to work alongside.  I’m only sad its over.  But not forever, you’ll have to bring the little ones in when you have your babies!  Best wishes and we wish you many many wonderful years!

Meet Devan and Cameron!

I am so excited to introduce you to this great couple, Devan and Cameron!  Devan and her dad came in to meet with us a few months back.  She expressed to me that she was looking for something different, and we had that!  Nothing makes my day more than to have brides come in wanting to do something outside of the ’same old, same old’. Last year we showed off a wonderful bride at our great new “hidden location”!  We received so much feedback and even more brides wanting something fun & exciting!  We were thrilled that (at the time) NO other photographer had shot there before us.  We strive on searching around for that spot that is unique and not the “backdrop” to every other couple’s portraits in town.

We had this session planned for a few weeks now, and when we checked out the weather and saw how beautiful it was going to be, it made my day even brighter!   So, without anymore of my rambling, meet Devan and Cameron!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!!!

Devan is so beautiful!

Thank you both for such an awesome shoot!  I can’t wait to work with you guys more!  Keep an eye out for Kim & Sam’s wedding teasers!  Those still to come!

Internship Opportunity…

Well my sweet friends and dedicated blog readers, the time as finally come!  We have been blessed beyond anything else I could describe.  All Dressed Up Photography truly was a dream of mine for many many years and it is a reality.  I know it all sounds so cheesy, but this is so much more than a job to me, it really is a passion.  I adore so many of my wonderful couples, and even those little ones we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside.  I put my heart into this business, and work day in and day out to make wonderful memories for each our couples to take home with them.  Sometimes, those days turn into early morning hours and we just can’t keep up.  Exactly 1 year ago, we moved into 701 Whaley!  This was the best thing we could have done as a business.  But along with rent, comes a nice growing business!  :)  With a growing business comes even more of a workflow, tons more couples, sessions and appointments!  Its becoming quite a task for us to take on.

So, in order to give our couples the attention they deserve, the customer service and fast turnaround they pay for and the true All Dressed Up experience…. a change is going to be made.  Yes, you read right, its that time to look for an intern. We’re looking for someone during the summer months (3-4 months)  Now, for all of those reading and even those that may be interested in the position, please know this is NOT a paid internship.  However, traveling expenses that may occur, and other opportunities that may come from this will definitely be covered.  Now, I know some of you wander… why on earth would I want to work for free.  Well… opportunity.  If photography is something that interests you, and possibly something you may want to do in the future, this is an amazing opportunity for you.   You will be given the opportunity to work under both Brantley & Richard Freeman, assist during sessions and some weddings, as well as learning the ins and outs of operating a studio.  Please know that we will take this internship very serious.  We again, are very passionate about our business and will be interviewing for this internship.

Basic Requirements:

You do not need professional experience (photographers with their own business will not apply), but you will need to have basic knowledge of photography.  If you have any basic gear, this is a plus.  As you may be given opportunities to shoot.  A general understanding of Photoshop is also required.  If interested in this internship, please contact the studio and send your portfolio link to brantley@alldressedupphotography.com by March 25th.

Thank you!

A Charleston Wedding – Patricia & Mike

Yep, thats right!  They are up and ready and I’m soo thrilled to post this wedding!  Wedding season is definitely in high gear and I wanted to show off a few from this wonderful couple’s wedding weekend.  Patricia & Mike are both pilots, and therefore, work crazy schedules.  Because they live in Atlanta and were planning their destination wedding for Charleston, they hired Melanie Murphy and her team with By Invitation Only.  They handled everything from planning to decor, and even the day of coordination!  Everything ran smoothly and turned out to be one of the most stunning weddings we’ve ever photographed!

One of our favorite parts of the day was the couple’s first glimpse.  Yes, thats right!  They decided to see one another prior to the ceremony.  I cannot say enough how incredibly special this is.  If I could go back in time, I would have done this myself.  Some people think it takes away from the day, but when you see these PRICELESS moments below… I believe you will think twice.  You can’t possibly recreate these moments between a couple, and you definitely can’t capture these in the actual ceremony.  Plus, this allowed for unlimited time with the couple to walk all around Charleston and get some amazing shots.  Shots, that we otherwise would not have been able to get.  :)

So…. enough rambling on my part.  Enjoy!   Patricia & her mom sharing a moment before she goes to meet Mike.

Tiger Lily Florsit created the beautiful bouquet and arrangements.

Waiting for Mike to see her for the first time.  :)

Just one more reason why I adore working with my husband!  He was standing in the marsh [literally] to capture this shot!  I love it!

And… the same shot from my perspective.  See how great it is to have 2 photographers!

And since they are both pilots, they thought it was only appropriate to use a plane prop as their “guest book”!  How creative is that?!!

Another shot of her bouquet.   The ceremony and reception took place at Charleston’s Historic – The Old Exchange.

The STUNNING ceremony setting!  Melanie Murphy blew me away with this!  It was so romantic and intimate!

Have I mentioned how much I LOVED the setup and beautiful candle lighting?!!

They even took private dance lessons for their first dance, dancing to ‘Fly Me to the Moon’.

Awesome job you two!  Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your big day!  We wish you both the very best and a long, happy marriage!

Patricia & Mike’s Wedding Teasers

We traveled to Charleston over the weekend to photograph Patricia & Mike’s wedding! What beautiful February weather they had, especially after all of the bitter cold we’ve had lately! They decided to see one another prior to the ceremony (which we HIGHLY recommend) – it was so incredibly sweet and emotional!  Here is just a little teaser of what’s to come!
